埼玉県警察学校
警察官になるという目標に向かって訓練を重ねる学生たちの強い意志を『正義の盾』『心の大地』『誇りの記憶』というキーワードに、庭の景観要素と合わせて視覚化することで学校本館の前庭としての象徴性を高めることを目指した。庭全体が新本館のシンメトリーなファサードデザインとその正面に移設された正門により新たに創り出された空間軸の骨格をなしている。およそ60×40mの空間は施設の正面性を強調する他、日々の訓練の場であるとともに来訪者のための車回しとなるなど多目的に利用できる機能性が求められた。この庭は志をもつ学生を毎年迎え入れ、心の拠り所となって支え、目標にひとつ近づいた彼らを送り出しやがて心象風景となる。

Police School Saitama
The perfected landscape is a creative blend and a visual realization of the garden elements and expressions of the trainees with underlying keywords such as, “Shield of Justice”, “Land of the Heart” and “Memory of Honor”. Due to the symmetrical façade design of the new building and the main entrance, overall garden design creates a new spatial axis. The 60m by 40m space emphasizes frontality. It is a multi-functional area, as it serves not only as a place where daily trainings are practiced but also as a driveway for visitors. Each year, this place welcomes new students, serves as their emotional and moral support, and as each individual leave this place behind, it become a place that will live in their heart.
