川沿いを走る幹線道路に隣接する居住区の再開発である。 川への直接の展望は出来ないが、川への抜けや空への広がりを感じられるように、中央部にまとまったオープンスペースを確保する住棟配置とした。 川へと向かう大きな流れ「WAVE」は様々な種類の植栽と歩行空間により構成される。四季折々、花木を愛でながら緑の中を散策できる庭である。 それらに張り出すように横たわる「PORT」は各住棟に隣接する活動の起点や居場所であり、かつ消防活動空地も兼用している、舗装と芝生が主体のミニマルな広場である。 2つの相反する要素が互いを補完し合い、ダイナミックな景観の中にヒューマンスケールや様々なシークエンスを生みだすことを意図している。

Chengdu Residential Complex
Redevelopment of a residential complex beside a highway that is laid along the river. While the river is not visible from the complex, the central open space allows the openness of the sky and the river flow to be felt by residents. Variety of plants create a so-called 「WAVE」, a flowing wave-like-path that leads to the river. The garden is filled with green and flowers all year round, making it a magnificent backyard for taking a walk in while enjoying nature’s seasonal expressions. Then there is the 「PORT」, a minimally designed grass and pavement open space area that connects to each of the towers and serves as a multifunctional space, as well as a space for fire operations. The dynamic landscape is intended for various human scale sequences to be borne in between the 2 contrasting elements of 「PORT」 and 「WAVE」, as they continue to complement one another.
