コクーンシティ おもてなしプラザ改修
2004年のCocoon 1、2015年のCocoon 2、3 の誕生以来、ライフスタイルの変化とともに屋外空間の利用が多様化し、豊かな緑による環境であることに加え積極的に屋外を活用できる場の在り方が求められるようになった。製糸工場から商業施設へと姿を変えながら新しい街づくりが継続的に進められてきた施設において、これからのニーズに応えられる様に「人の居場所を変換 (Transformation)」する作業を行った。それは今ある良好な環境を活かしながら、お気に入りの場所が見つかる多様な場と利用者が愛着をもてるこの街らしさを感じられるような場づくり。緑の傍らにある何気ない滞留スペースや憩いの空間をお互いの気配が感じられる距離感でつくることで全体の賑わいにつなげる。

COCOON CITY Renovation
Since the birth of Cocoon 1 in 2004 and Cocoon 2 and 3 in 2015, the use of outdoor spaces has been diversified along with the alteration of our lifestyle. And the ideal way of place that actively utilizes outdoor spaces has come to be in demand in addition to the richness of the green environment. We executed "A transformation of the place where people stay" to respond to the current and future demands at the place where continuous town planning has been progressing with the alteration from once a historical silk mill to a new commercial complex. It is a creation of a diverse place where people can find their favorite spaces, and people can be attached and feel the uniqueness of the town while utilizing the existing environmental qualities. Creating casual spaces and relaxing spaces with an adequate distance in which people can feel each other by the side of the green plantings will lead to the liveliness of the whole place.
